Piet Steyn

I was born in 1967 and raised on my grandfather’s farm in a small town in the Eastern Transvaal of South Africa where I developed a love for animals and the bush.

I have guided many successful and happy clients on dangerous game hunts for lion, buffalo, elephant and leopard in South Africa and Tanzania Botswana and Namibia as well as numerous plains-game hunts. I have been hunting professionally for the last 15 years.

From hunts in countries such as Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and Angola I have gained invaluable experience and knowledge of Africa at its best and it’s harshest. I pass these insights and experiences on to my clients, to ensure the best possible bush adventure, allowing them to leave Africa fulfilled and knowledgeable, with a hunger to return.

But please don’t think that I only cater for the advanced hunter. I love to share my passion with the first time hunter, as well as families and children on their first experience of Africa.

The Apprentice: De-Wald Steyn

Born on 1st August 1992 in Richards bay on the north coast of Zululand, South Africa. I started to hunt when I was 6 years old on the family farm outside a small town called Carolina.

Here, I honed my hunting skills after school on doves and pigeons with an air gun. I had spent most of my afternoons hunting in the bush until late in the evenings.  At age 7  I shot my first Impala, this was after I had practised a lot with my dad’s .22 calibre. The rifle I used was a .223 and was well suited for me as it did not have much of a recoil but enough killing power for the impala.Since I have hunted a few animals including the, Reedbuck, Blesbuck, Njala, Blue Wildebeest, and Springbuck.

At present I’m still completing my education and work during the holidays as apprentice for my farther as a cameraman and safari driver on hunts with clients. Gaining all the necessary experience and exposure I possibly can.
